The audience aren't shown the London O2 arena by a camera track that focus on the woman preparing with a bowl, this could be because Frears wants the audience to be aware that they are watching the film through the immigrant's experiences which excludes them from typical British landmarks. The woman is wearing her typical native clothing that emphasises the border between herself and Okwe as he dresses in clothes that would assimilate him with British life.

The kitchen in the background doesn't feature any kitchen cupboards and appears quite bare suggesting the lack of comfort making this just a house and not what the woman would call her own home, can similarise with Okwe not having a home to sleep in.

The lack of comfort is continued as the camera tracks her into a living room and there are no pictures hanging up the wall, or proper curtains; instead there is plain wallpaper and a sheet pinned up in front of the window. The lighting is quite dark which doesn't give home to this house and gives the impression of secrecy, however there is attempt at comfort with the scarf hanging over the red lamp which provides the majority of light.

The close up of Okwe shows the audience the highly confused expression that he wears, it also surrounds him in blue light which I think is ironic after struggling to tell the man to take blue tablets. Which is a common for later on in the film when Okwe, Senay and Juliette hand over Sneaky's kidney.
